Why: Teach the student to extend the arm and never swim out to a distressed person without buoyancy aids, such as a lifebuoy.
How: The student swims out to the "distressed" who is 10 meters out in the water, let the "distressed" put his hands on the lifebuoy and tow back to the edge.
