Why: This is the first ice mark and the student gets to know how to behave on the ice.
How: Show the student how the ice studs work and that the ice should be 10 cm before you can ride or walk on it. Teach the "thumb and forefinger". Inform that you can wear a life jacket as both a safety and warm garment when skating. Feel free to use the storybook Krabban as an aid.
